A few weeks ago, Jeddy and I took flight to sunny San Diego, California for a Mobile App conference. We stayed in the historic Horton Hotel in downtown SD right near the Gaslamp district (so much fun) loaded with bars, restaurants and sights to see.
Our work commitment was a 3 day conference with our Mobile App platform provider for a crash course on what’s up and coming in the market, what new releases to expect and an opportunity to network with fellow like-minded business owners. The event was hosted in the Hard Rock Hotel (nice, nice) with breakfast each day. On the last day of the event, the company booked the ‘Woodstock’ rooftop patio area for an all-out soirée with food, drinks, music and dancing. We met some great new people (some close to home from Great Falls, MT) and danced the night away on the artificial turf! Hah!
After the conference ended we were set to fly back home on Sunday, but the gorgeous weather and palm trees called our name to extend the stay a little longer (well, that and we made some great business connections we wanted to explore in-person…). We visited the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier (‘murca), Mission Beach, Old Towne and more. We also rented a sailboat for a few days and chartered it for a tour of the San Diego Harbour at Sunset. Big thanks to our main man, David, who captained our boat AND took us for the most gut-wrenching MaiTai’s one could imagine (hint… there’s no juice or mixer).
Overall, San Diego was a wonderful time. I truly love this city and all it’s cultural vibrance (and fish tacos.. obvs). If I could split my time between two places in the world, it would be San Diego, Wellington (NZ), Tokyo, Philippines… okay nevermind.. I love too many places.
